Electricity

There are many measures we can take to reduce electricity consumption. First, we converted our gray electricity to green electricity (as of 2022). This is not a direct reduction, but it does reduce CO2 emissions tremendously.

Because consumption is recorded, we see that we have had a higher purchase of electricity last year compared to previous years. We are currently investigating what caused this. In addition, we see that about 24% of our power consumption occurs at night.

Last year we replaced all fluorescent lights in the operations and logistics halls with LED lights. This is the first electricity reduction already initiated. This reduction will be visible in the 2022 figures.

Freight transport

Goods transport has a major impact on CO2 emissions. There are gains to be made here. We can divide this transport into air, sea and road transport. We always try to keep air transport to a minimum. Sea transport, on the other hand, we use plenty of it. We are currently in contact with a provider to directly offset and reduce CO2 emissions for this form of transport. For example through the use of biological fuel.
